Mini Residential Medical Summer camp, at Arkansas State University - Jonesboro campus, aimed at enlightening students about future careers in medicine and to the overall well-being of their community. Students will participate in community projects, be trained in Basic Life Support and shadow physicians and participate in additional educational experiences.

AGS is a six-week residential, educational summer program designed for upcoming high school seniors with exceptional abilities, creativity, and maturity. Participants attend classes and many special events, including concerts, theatrical productions lectures, and films. They participate in service projects, recreational activities, and social gatherings. The atmosphere of AGS is charged with intellectual, cultural, and social excitement.

American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State are the premier programs for teaching how government works while developing leadership skills & an appreciation for your rights as a citizen. As a participant in the program you, will run for office, learn public speaking, create and enforce laws and actively participate in all phases of creating and running a working government in this exciting and fun summer program.
You’ll meet other students from across your state who will become friends for life.
You’ll develop confidence and leadership skills that will shape your future.
Many states offer scholarships or admission preference for attendees of Boys or Girls State.
You must have completed your junior year of high school and have at least one semester of high school remaining to be eligible to participate.

United States Senate Youth Program
The 59th annual United States Senate Youth Program will be held March 14-18, 2021. This is for students that are interested in government, political science, and public service and must currently hold an elective office in a student government, civic, or educational organization officially sponsored by the student's school.

UAMS Summer Pharmacy Camp
The UAMS College of Pharmacy Summer Camp Program is designed for students interested in learning more about the challenging career pathway opportunities in the profession of pharmacy. This unique camp incorporates active participation in a broad scope of learning experiences including “hands-on” training in pharmacy practice skills, lectures by College of Pharmacy faculty and local Arkansas pharmacist practitioners, and field trips to actual pharmacy practice locations. The camp program reviews pharmacy education opportunities and the pharmacy curriculum at UAMS as well as recommended high school preparatory and collegiate pre-pharmacy course work.
Camp tuition is $400.00 and includes housing, all meals, camp instruction materials, laboratory exercise supplies, and field trip transportation and expenses.
Students currently in their junior and senior year of high school are eligible to apply.

Craighead Electric Cooperative Youth Tour
Students will take a trip to Washington DC from June 19-25, 2020 to see how the government operates, firsthand.

Astate Global Youth Leadership and Social & Digital Media Academies
One of the goals of Global Youth is to bring together American students with international students for the learning and cultural experience. All students participating in this program will receive a unique experience in the fields of leadership, journalism, social or digital media. They will develop knowledge and skills through challenging, intense activities with university professors, leaders in the community and business field as well as classmates from around the world. The program will include fun activities and day field trips to Little Rock and Memphis.

USMC Summer Leadership and Character Development Academy (SLCDA)
The SLCDA is a community outreach/social connection program that is designed to help rising high school juniors and seniors recognize their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community. Selected students spend a week in our Nation's Capitol Region participating in hands-on leadership activities, meeting leaders from across the country, and participating in community service projects.
The SLCDA is not geared toward recruitment, but rather, the goal is to return these high caliber individuals to their schools with a greater sense of purpose, a deeper understanding of their own personal leadership skills, an enhanced desire to make a positive impact in their community , and a unique experience on their resume.
There is no charge for this academy.

Future Agents in Training is a three day workshop that allows 28 Arkansas students to acquire first-hand experience from the Arkansas FBI. If selected, the student will attend a three day workshop in Fort Smith, Arkansas (three consecutive Fridays), in which training from the Arkansas FBI will be provided. Some of the skills that will be taught include: Interviewing skills, forensic investigation, and live arrest procedures. It is important to note that no students will be placed in harmful situations.
Application criteria involves: A formal application

A letter of recommendation from your school counselor, teacher, or principal

M*A*S*H
M*A*S*H is a two-week intensive summer program open to students, who will be entering grades 11-12 in the Fall 2022, have successfully completed a Biology class, and carry a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students must also have received the COVID-19 vaccination.
Students participating in M*A*S*H will be certified in AHA BLS (CPR & First Aid course), participate in hands-on classroom activities, and shadow a variety of healthcare professionals.
